Introduction

  • Gujarat Saraswati Sadhana Yojana is the welfare scheme of Gujarat Government for Girl Students.
  • It was started in the year 2019.
  • Directorate of Schedule Caste Welfare of Gujarat Government is the Nodal Department of this scheme.
  • The main objective behind launching this scheme is to encourage girl students to pursue for higher education and provide them a safe and reliable mode of transportation.
  • Under Gujarat Saraswati Sadhana Yojana, Government of Gujarat will provide free of cost bicyle to Girl Students of Gujarat.
  • Girl Students belonging to Schedule Caste Category and Developing Caste Category are eligible to get free of cost bicycle under this scheme.
  • Gujarat Saraswati Sadhana Scheme is not for all Girl Students but only for those Girls Students who are studying in Class 9th.
  • There is also an annual income limit for beneficiaries under Saraswati Sadhana Scheme which is :-
  1. Rs. 1,20,000/- in Rural Area Residents.
  2. Rs. 1,50,000/- in Urban Area Residents.
  • Bicycles recieved under Gujarat Saraswati Sadhana Yojanacan be used by Girl Students to go to school from her home.
  • In the earlier phase of Gujarat Saraswati Sadhana Yojana, Government of Gujarat were providing scholarship to eligible beneficiaries.
  • Then the benefits changed from Scholarship to Free of Cost Bicycle Distribution.
  • There is no need to apply anywhere for Girl Child to avail the benefit of free of cost bicycle.
  • Principal of School in which Girl Child is studying recommended the name of all the eligible beneficiaries to the department for distribution of free of cost bicycle.

Eligibility

  • Permanent Residents of Gujarat.
  • Applicant should be Girl Student.
  • Girl Student should be studying in Class 9th.
  • The Annual Family Income of Girl Student should be :-
    Rs. 1,20,000/- in Rural Area.
    Rs. 1,50,000/- in Urban Area.
  • Girl Student should be belong to Schedule Caste or Developing Caste.

Benefits

  • The following benefits will be provided to Girl Students studying in Class 9th under Gujarat Saraswati Sadhana Yojana :-
    Free of Cost Bicycle will be given to Eligible Girl Students.

Document Required

  • Domicile/ Residence Proof of Gujarat.
  • Aadhar Card of Girl.
  • Aadhar Card of Parents.
  • Caste Certificate.
  • Income Certificate.
  • Bank Account Details.

How to Apply

  1. Eligible Girl Beneficiary doesn’t have to apply anywhere to avail the benefit of free of cost bicyce under Gujarat Sarawati Sadhana Yojana.
  2. Principal of School in which girl is studying will prepare the list of eligible girl beneficiaries.
  3. Principal of School will then upload the list of eligible girl beneficiaries in Digital Gujarat Portal of Gujarat Government.
  4. Recommended Applications of Eligible Beneficiary will then verified by District Social Welfare Officer.
  5. After verification, Department will generate and disburse vouchers for beneficiaries to get free of cost bicycle.
  6. Beneficiary has to visit the authorised bicycle dealer with the received voucher to get the free of cost bicycle.
